How can innovative technology like artificial intelligence (AI) contribute to the development of the textile industry?

Alongside Anja Bisgaard Gaede from SPOTT Trends, we had the pleasure of presenting two AI tools we had worked on together. The first is an image generator, where, through a user interface, you can easily prompt different new images of textiles. They can have different materials, textures, and patterns, and can be presented in various settings such as on furniture or as curtains or carpets. A visual AI that can assist in the creative back-and-forth for designers. The second is a virtual assistant and chatbot that has a deeper understanding and knowledge of textiles, especially about the Heimtextil 2024 fair. You can ask it a question about one of Heimtextil's exhibitors, and after a few seconds, you get an answer. Moving forward, it will be easier to obtain precise professional information from specialized AIs that are always available.

Both prototypes are created to experiment with AI and textiles, as well as to inspire and provide a glimpse of how AI might impact the textile industry.
