PSYCHSIM VR

A group of junior doctors, psychiatrists and clinical teachers recognised the lack of comprehensive training to prepare health professionals for the unpredictability of acute situations in everyday clinical life. A need for a simulation-based format was emphasized allowing them to 1) develop their professional competencies in acute psychiatry 2) reduce their stress and insecurities of navigating in acute psychiatry.

The VR in Acute Psychiatry was inspired by the PsychSim research project, which aims to build best practices for integrating patient-centred educational technologies in psychiatry education. PsychSim is a blend of word from “psychiatry and simulation.”
