SEPARATE SILENCES
Separate Silences is a two-person hybrid cinematic virtual reality experience.
The story portrays two siblings who have been involved in a car accident. As their state becomes critical, they float between a state of coma and sleep paralysis in their hospital beds.
As the audience, you will be invited into the hospital bed to experience the story from the perspectives of each of the siblings. The experience does not only include sight and sounds. It also involves the viewer’s physical body through stimulation like touch and smell. The stimulations strengthen a virtual embodiment and make for a truly unique VR experience.

Collaboration with Danish healthcare services
Separate Silences was created as a creative VR project, experimenting with embodiment and storytelling theories, all merged into a fictional story. Since its premiere in 2017, the experience has since resulted in new collaborations, including with healthcare services in Denmark. Together with Randers SOSU, we have been testing the concept of Separate Silences as a learning tool for healthcare workers. The VR experience is currently an integrated part of the school’s healthcare education.
